About Us
At I.M. Industries Ltd., our story is one of craftsmanship, dedication, and family.
Founded in 1968 by Lou Brodeur — a proud son of Ponteix, Saskatchewan, and one of 13 siblings —
the company began as a vision to provide high-quality metal fabrication with a personal touch. After
graduating from SAIT, Lou built I.M. Industries from the ground up, eventually partnering with his
brother-in-law, Norm Comeau, to grow the business into a trusted name across Alberta and
beyond.
In 1979, Norm took over leadership of the company, continuing its commitment to excellence and
integrity. Among the many skilled tradespeople to pass through I.M. Industries was Layne Brezinski,
who returned in 2011 — not just as a team member, but as the new owner. Under Layne’s
leadership, the company has expanded and evolved, while staying true to the core values it was
built on.
Today, we serve individuals, commercial clients, and industrial operations throughout Canada,
delivering expertly crafted fabricated metal products tailored to each project’s unique needs. While
our capabilities have grown, one thing remains the same: ask anyone on our team, and they’ll tell
